Founded and run by a high school student, RefChar aims to raise funds for charity in an innovative and inexpensive way.
A short introduction to how we produce donations from thin air:
First, we communicate with creators and traders, primarily in the crypto community, often via Twitter/X. We work with those that do not need another income stream, as they might already be accomplished traders or owners of other ventures, but are willing to support their favourite exchange by sporting a referral link provided to them by RefChar.
This referral link is provided to RefChar by, primarily crypto, exchanges that want to leverage creators' online communities to expand their userbase. The exchanges pay RefChar for this new stream of users, enabled by their platform's promotion by our partnered creators, in the form of flexible payouts that depend on how much users that sign up via the referral link use their platform. These payouts are usually in the form of stablecoins, or US-Dollars and will be accrued by RefChar over one month.
Next, RefChar uses a simple process to decide how these funds are allocated at the end of each month: first, our creators are asked to decide on the ten most important charitable causes of the month. Then, out of these ten, the RefChar community votes on the cause they deem most important to support via a poll, posted monthly, on our Twitter account. Lastly, all funds accrued through any referral links over the month are donated to a charity, or master fund, supporting the month's cause through The Giving Block, a company that enables both normal, and efficient cryptocurrency or stock donations.
This process relies heavily on the actions of users, creators, exchanges and charities, leaving all of them better off if they choose to partake: active users get access fee rebates, sign up bonuses and private content from their favourite creators, whilst supporting charity, creators are able to support charitable causes at no cost to them, exchanges are able to expand their userbase, and charities on TheGivingBlock gain access to more funding.
In the end, all RefChar does to generate donations is to connect these key stakeholders and help them collaborate, directly or indirectly, to close the "efficiency gap" created by the lack of communication between them. This closure leaves all parties better off (more perks for users, increased charitability/better image for creators, more customers for exchanges, more donations for charities) as donations do not come at any net cost to any of them.
